Mini Roulette SpribeYou might have heard that Mini Roulette has been taking over online casinos by storm. Its popularity is in no small part thanks to the game's refreshingly clean and minimal aesthetic. But it's more than just looks.

From within this list, if you enjoy a leaner and more digital aesthetic, then you'll find that Mini Roulette pairs especially well with the crypto environment at Stake or at Playzilla.

On the other hand, if you're looking to play at a slightly more classic environment, we recommend the Mini Roulette game at Just Casino.

Mini Roulette Basics

Mini Roulette is a simplified version of the traditional roulette game, featuring a smaller wheel with fewer numbers. Instead of the standard 37 or 38 pockets found in European or American roulette, Mini Roulette uses just 12 numbers: 6 black, 6 red. Some might have a green Zero, but not always.

Like iconWhen the Zero is present, the game will typically apply the la partage rule, meaning that if the ball lands on zero, players receive half of their bet back. This applies to all bets, and not just on even money bets like in French roulette, which is yet another advantage to the mini format.

Due to the reduced numbers, the arrangement of the numbers differs from the regular roulette wheel. And because there are fewer numbers, there are also fewer betting options. The basic betting layout is there, but you won't get racetrack bets.

As a software based roulette game, rather than a live dealer experience, Mini Roulette allows players to control the pace of the game. Each round starts when you press the Spin button, so you have plenty of time to make your betting decisions.

Mini Roulette is a type of RNG roulette game, and that means it's available for free play in demo mode. Free roulette games are an excellent way for beginners to better their grasp of the rules and details in order to build a stronger strategy.

Forward iconAnd in the case of Mini Roulette, free play has another important role. Because each developer has developed slightly different versions of the game with their own special touch, taking advantage of free play is a great way to explore these variations. It allows you to test different approaches, familiarize yourself with the mechanics, and determine which version aligns best with your preferences.

We've put a Mini roulette simulator here so you can get a feeling for all this without having to look any further.

We decided to showcase the Mini Roulette demo game from Spribe here. Best known for their popular crypto arcade games, Spribe brings a sleek, user-friendly experience to the casino classic. We think their more minimal yet simultaneously innovative design manages to really deliver the core of the roulette experience in mini form.

Mini Roulette Rules

Basically a streamlined version of the classic roulette game, Mini Roulette has fewer numbers but largely a similar gameplay. And although different developers might build games with slight variations, the core rules remain consistent.

How to Play Mini Roulette

Want to learn how to play Mini Roulette? We walk you through the rules step by step below.

1coinOnce you've found a mini roulette game, begin by setting your bet size. Most games will have different colored chip sizes you can choose from for this purpose.
2coinThen, put your chip on the betting layout. Some games will highlight the betting options as you hover across the layout.
3coinYou may place additional bets on the layout with the same chip, or change your chip to another bet size for other bets. Most games will also have an Undo button that will clear your last bet placement in case you made a mistake, and a Clear all button if you want to start fresh.
4coinAfter you have placed all you desired bets for the round, press the Spin button. The roulette wheel will spin, and wins will be automatically paid out. You are then ready to start another round.

Some games will have a Repeat bet button so you can place all the same bets from last round in the next round.

Like most casino games, there are minimum and maximum bet limits in Mini Roulette. The minimum is easy and can usually be met by placing a bet with the smallest chip size. The maximum however refers to your total bet per round, and not just the chip size, since you can place multiple bets per round. That's why the largest chip size is different from the max bet limit.

When the Mini Roulette game features a Zero, the La Partage rule will apply. This means if the ball lands on the Zero, you will get half your bet back. And unlike classic roulette, where La Partage only applies to even money bets like Odds Evens, La Partage applies to all bets in Mini Roulette, including Straight bets.

With fewer numbers and simplified betting options, Mini Roulette is an excellent choice for beginners learning the ropes.

Comparison: Mini Roulette Games from Different Developers

The innovative format has proven to be very popular among players, and several software providers have rolled out their own take on Mini Roulette. All take the same, basic idea - that is fewer numbers and more concentrated betting options – and then give it their own special touch.

Below, we compare Mini Roulette games from three different developers on the market right now.

Playtech

Playtech's Mini Roulette offers a realistic rendering of a scaled-down roulette wheel with 12 numbers and a single zero. If the ball lands on Zero, the la partage rule always applies (see image below – 1.), giving players half of their even-money bets back.

mini-roulette-playtech-build-upMoreLess

The game's interface includes a clear display of the winning number (3.), shown both in the center of the wheel and with a dolly on the betting layout. Additionally, winning number statistics (2.) are conveniently displayed on the right side of the screen, providing useful insights for players.

The betting layout allows for all the usual inside bets such as Splits, Squares, Streets and Straights. The outside bets have been adjusted to account for the fewer numbers so that Column and Dozen bets both cover 1/3. And of course there are also even money bets for Red Black, and Odd Even.

Spribe

The most well known version of them all, Spribe is the pioneer of provably fair games. The aesthetic is a much more minimal, digital style that bears the signature look and feel across Spribe's crypto games.

mini-roulette-spribe-wheel-betting-layoutMoreLess

This Mini Roulette game does not have a Zero at all. The betting layout is also somewhat different from the classic layout, namely there are no Streets, Columns, or Dozens available.

Instead, betting options are limited to Straights, Splits, and Squares for inside bets; outside bets are all even money bets with bet options 1 to 6, 7 to 12, which would translate into High Low bets in classic roulette, and then Colors, and Even Odds.

Expanse

The Mini Power Roulette game from Expanse Studios sports a sleek, modern look, plus a wheel that has 12 numbers plus a green Zero. Betting options include Streets, Columns, and Dozens.

Where it is different from Playtech's game is that it's added multipliers into the mix that can boost winnings to a 100x payout. That's significantly higher than classic roulette payouts.

mini-roulette-expanse-studios-random-multiplierMoreLess

How the multipliers work is that after placing your bet and pressing the Spin button, the roulette wheel will spin, while the reels for a Payout and the Power Number will also spin. The Payout is the multiplier and can be 20x, 50x or 100x.

If the winning roulette number matches the Power Number, you will get the multiplier Payout applied to your win.

Mini Roulette Payout and Odds

With significantly fewer numbers on the wheel, the odds in Mini Roulette are going to be different from its classic counterpart. With different odds, you are going to get different payouts too. And since the three games actually have some very different features that change winning potentials, the payouts are not all the same.

We've summarized the payouts the different Mini Roulette games in the table below.

Compared to traditional roulette games, the top payout on a Straight Up is lower. However, this is because with just 12 numbers, your odds of winning on a Straight bet is significantly higher.

Betting Options in Mini Roulette

The mini format has 1/3 of the numbers on the wheel. Not counting the Zeros, with just 12 numbers against 36, Mini Roulette is going to have far fewer betting options and especially affects some classic outside bets, namely the Dozens.

In a classic Dozens bet, a bet would be placed on 12 numbers, but that would be the entire wheel in Mini Roulette. And whereas Double Streets in French roulette would be a small, modest bet, that bet's 6 numbers would translate into half of the Mini Roulette wheel. So instead of Double Street and Dozens, you get the Half Dozen bet instead.

Below is a summary of the different bets and their probabilities in Mini Roulette.

Inside Bets

  • Straight ups - on 1/12 numbers on the wheel, not including the 0. Compared this to French roulette where the probability is 1/36.
  • Split - two numbers, side by side.
  • Streets - 3/12 numbers, rather than 3/36 numbers, improves your odds by 3x. Not available in Spribe's betting layout.
  • Corner - four numbers that share a center.
  • Three - on the numbers 0, 1, 2 or 0, 2, 3 (not in Spribe game)
  • Four - on the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3 (not in Spribe game)

What you might have noticed is that inside bets in Mini Roulette clearly have much better odds than in French roulette. To be exact, your odds are roughly 3x better because there's just a 1/3 of the numbers here, if you don't count the 0.

Outside bets

  • Color: Red or Black, six numbers on the wheel
  • Even Odd: also six numbers on the wheel
  • Half Dozen (Spribe): From numbers 1 to 6, then 7 to 12. Each consist of 6 numbers on the wheel.
  • Half Dozen (Playtech and Expanse): From numbers 1 to 6, then 4 to 9, then 7 to 12. Each option consists of six numbers.
  • Columns: Three column bet options, each covering four numbers (not in Spribe).

With the exception of Columns, all outside bets are even money bets in Mini Roulette because they cover half the wheel. High Low is not listed on the layout, but this is effectively replaced by the Half Dozen bet.

The Playtech and Expanse games offer 3 options for Half Dozens to maintain a betting layout that feels more similar to classic French roulette. Note however that all three Half Dozen options will cover 6 numbers, that is half the wheel.

Are there Call Bets in Mini Roulette?

Info iconIf you were wondering whether they were any call bets or sector bets in Mini Roulette, the answer is no. With just a third of the number of slots on the wheel, Mini Roulette doesn't have the range for the traditional call bets like Orphans or the zero game.

Compared to European or French roulette, Mini Roulette is much more focused on the core elements, for a concentrated and intense roulette experience.

And since everything is already reduced to the minimum, there is really no need to have a racetrack either. Because with such a minimal setup, it's easy to place your bets manually, even if you want to bet on every single number on the wheel.

Mini Roulette Tips and Tricks

Mini Roulette presents a unique opportunity for players due to its smaller wheel and fewer numbers. One effective strategy is to focus on straight-up bets. With only 12 numbers and sometimes a Zero, the odds of winning on a straight-up bet are much better compared to traditional French roulette. This is why Mini Roulette appeals to experienced gamblers as much as to beginners-there's a significantly higher chance of hitting a specific number and getting the top prize.

However, because the odds for straight bets are approximately three times better than in standard roulette, even money bets become less valuable. The reduced number range means that the appeal of even money bets, such as Red Black, is diminished, making them a less strategic choice in this version.

Money iconExploring different versions of Mini Roulette can also be beneficial. We would definitely give Expanse's Mini Roulette a try. Since it offers power payouts in addition to the mini format's better odds, their fresh take on the traditional gameplay can lead to more lucrative betting experiences.

Free play is always an excellent way to get a feel for the game mechanics and strategies. However, transitioning to real money play is crucial if your goal is to win actual money. It's also crucial for beginner gamblers as free play won't replicate the stakes involved in gambling.

Understanding odds and making informed bets is a skill best honed with real stakes on the line. And Mini Roulette provides beginner roulette gamblers an excellent opportunity for this with its easy to understand format and improved odds.

  1. Which variant is Mini Roulette?
  2. Is Mini Roulette a crypto game?
  3. Is Mini Roulette good for beginner players?
  4. What is the max payout in Mini Roulette?
  5. What is the Mini Roulette RTP?

1. Which variant is Mini Roulette?

Mini Roulette does not fit easily into existing roulette variants. Classic variants like French or American roulette mostly differ on whether they have one or two Zeros on the wheel, but in Mini Roulette, it's possible to have no Zero at all.

The main thing is that there are only twelve numbers, from 1 to 12 and equally divided between red and black. We would therefore say that Mini Roulette is its own variant.

2. Is Mini Roulette a crypto game?

Yes, Mini Roulette is a crypto game, at least the version from Spribe is, but it is also available as a regular RNG casino game.

Many online casinos have added Spribe's games to their portfolio so that you don't have to have any cryptocurrency to play. And meanwhile, other gaming studios have realized the potential in the mini format, and have rolled out their own RNG mini roulette games as well.

3. Is Mini Roulette good for beginner players?

Yes, Mini Roulette is an excellent choice for beginners. Its simplified wheel, featuring only 12 numbers plus an optional Zero, makes it easier to focus on the basics without the complexity of a full roulette table. This streamlined layout helps new gamblers quickly learn how to place bets without getting overwhelmed by the numerous betting options found in traditional roulette.

The game also offers better odds, especially for straight-up bets-a favorite among many beginners. With fewer numbers on the wheel, the chance of hitting a specific number is higher compared to standard roulette versions. This aspect not only makes Mini Roulette accessible for those new to the game but also appealing to experienced gamblers who appreciate the improved odds.

4. What is the max payout in Mini Roulette?

A win on a straight up, that is a single number, will be the highest paying. The payout varies from 9:1 to 11.64:1. The exact monetary amount will depend on your bet size, which will vary by game and by casino. Usually, the crypto casino Stake offers higher max bets than most other online casinos.

In addition, Mini Power Roulette game from Expanse comes with random multipliers that are independent of the roulette wheel. These can give your win up to a 100x boost to give you by far the most lucrative win.

5. What is the Mini Roulette RTP?

There are different Mini Roulette games on the market, each with their own RTP (Return to Player). The game from Spribe has the highest RTP at 97%, while both the Playtech and Expanse titles have a 96.15% RTP.
